A Smiling Kind of Day

Happy early spring folks, happy Super Bowl Sunday USA, and Happy Happy Birthday to my nephew!
It’s a sunny and cool day in South Florida, which I call perfect football weather. Our nephew has been in Miami since last Wednesday to celebrate his birthday with his girlfriend and to attend the game. My brother and sister-in-law spent two days visiting them.
Today, our social committee is having a dinner in the clubhouse before the Super Bowl. I’m bringing my famous nachos as an appetizer. I don’t want them to be soggy, so will do most of the prep work this morning and prepare them before we leave.
The photo is of our happy granddaughter winning a bronze medal yesterday in the biggest competition of the year. My daughter-in-law sent it to me. We are waiting for my son to send more photos when he isn’t running around to ice hockey games with my grandson.
Our younger son spent the weekend celebrating his birthday in Boston with 67 friends.
Such is life! I’m very grateful for it. Hope you all are smiling today, too.

That is awesome about your grand. I guess your son is very popular guy. I am making a fruit pizza but I am sending half of it back with friend..I don't need that hanging around.

@DianneN I guess the breakup is still relatively new - I don't doubt he has had to repeat the story over and over - especially since the many mutual friends probably want to hear his side of the story. In time this part will pass - but in the meantime it sounds like he's staying active - which is way better than hiding in a cave which some will do. Glad he has wonderful support from family and friends

@much2say He’s working on rebuilding his social life closer to home. Most of his friends know his ex, and he’s sick about discussing the breakup. He has a few good friends, but many more in Boston.
We all have our complaints, but we deal with them and move on.
So far, so good this week. I’m avoiding stress!

I hope the nachos are a hit at the clubhouse Super Bowl party. Happy Birthday to your nephew and son. He does know how to celebrate. Both of them do. Congrats on your nephew going to the game.

He had a ball! He met at his friend’s home, which is immense, then they all went out to dinner in a private room at his friend’s friend’s restaurant, and went to a private club. Friends came and went all night. I’m still waiting to hear about his big gift, but don’t want to bother him. We plan to FaceTime when he gets home later.
