Since my husbands heart surgery,. he has decided to eat better. So I bought some ground turkey and ground turkey sausage and I think both taste really bad. This was for spaghetti, so I added a lot of oregano, basil, and garlic, yet the flavor of the meat was similar mutton I had tried years ago and thought was super gross. I also bought ground chicken, but I still have the turkey and turkey sausage. Does anyone have any idea to make this meat edible?

I use ground turkey in meatballs, meatloaf, chili, and meat sauce for pasta. I cook the meatballs and meat sauce in seasoned tomato sauce. The meatloaf gets a tomato glaze. The chili gets crushed tomatoes and lots of spices. My ex husband never liked ground turkey but he couldn't tell that I was using it in those thinigs. I've never liked ground chicken though.

I did the same thing, except I also seasoned the meat. How is it that your husband never knew? There has to be something you are doing or maybe the seasonings you are using?

I think it might be the name brand. I cooked the ground chicken and it was delicious.

I actually like ground turkey. I used to use it in all my ground beef recipes.

Turkey wings, or just turkey is delicious, but ground up to use to make tacos, it was not good at all.

I love turkey, but not ground turkey. There has to be some way to make it edible.

I think it is just a question of getting used to it. You might find at some point you actually prefer it.alot less grease to worry about.

That's okay. I did find the ground chicken was good, yet a little pricier.
