Painted Succulents

We went to home Depot today, band while my husband shopped for screws and brackets I wandered with the kids to the garden department.
From time to time I like to pretend I don't live in a cave and browse plants as if I could actually grow them.
Then I saw these brightly colored plants and wondered why they had plastic plants in the garden department.
Turns out they were real succulents that had been painted. The paint wasn't toxic to the plants, according to the sign, and would grow out. New growth would be green or gold.
But why paint them at all? Would you be more likely to buy a unnaturally colored plant?

That is really sad since succulents already come in such pretty colors.

They really do. Some of the cactus there had natural "blooms" nearly the same color as these painted plants.

@MGjhaud The information with them did not say. It just said the paint was safe for the plants and would grow out, the new growth being normal green.

My fake ones are all green too. Except one I painted the tips silver to match a planter I made to put it in.

I do not get the point, but that is me. I like plants in their real colors.

Well, ALL the succulents in the photo are real ones. Some just have been painted to look fake for some reason. Glad to see you like the natural look though.

That is very interesting I have never seen or heard of painted succulents.

I suppose they're a bit of a novelty. Being cacti, it would take quite a while for the paint to grow completely out.

I completely agree. It is just to attract customers and increase the sales
