We’ve spent the day in Lumbini, Nepal. Vince’s friend from several years back, Dimendra, met us at 8.30am. Soon after Vince left Lumbini in 2018, Dimendra lost the tips of two fingers in an accident. The Sell for a Well group raised money to help with reattaching the tip of one finger and also helping to cover his hospital expenses.
We visited two schools with which Vince has been associated and he was able to renew acquaintances with several people from earlier visits. We were given lunch at the girls’ school then returned to our hotel where we crashed for several hours. We really needed the extra sleep. At 5.30pm we walked to another friends’ house. They are the parents of the bride whose wedding we attended recently.
We stayed for another Nepalese meal then walked home again later. Until I get time to enlarge on some of these subjects, here is a photo of one of the many trucks that travel the roads here. This one isn’t particularly glittery. Some are very much decorated and shimmer and shine as they approach.

Sometimes the cabins are like mini-shrines with all sorts of decorations.

They seem to be really proud of their trucks and there are truck washing stations all over the place.

They have a big tourism push going - Visit Nepal in 2020. There is a huge amount of new building going on in anticipation of big crowds - but not the coronavirus has hit.
