Let out on my own!

We are currently on a short break in the Scottish Highlands and the weather is glorious - wall-to-wall sunshine! Today, my wife just wanted to chill out in our hotel so I found myself with an unexpected free day which I chose to fill by going for a walk in the nearby hills. Strangely, I didn't see anyone else all day and the picture here is myself on a previous trip to the same area a couple of years ago. The conditions today were pretty much the same except that is was quite cold. Still, you can't have everything and I did enjoy myself.

It amazes me that so many people in the UK have no idea we have this sort of scenery on the doorstep, relatively speaking.

@ScotMac That is so true. And not just over the next hill either. Since acquiring our dog and doing a lot of walking in our local area I've noticed all sorts of things I never knew existed.

More people need to get out of their cars and seek out what's just over the next hill.

Would you happen to have anymore photos of those lovely hills? I've always wanted to see what Scotland looked like ..... not the cities ..... but I'll never get to actually see it for myself @ScotMac

I didn't have a camera with me and that photo was taken by my son a couple of years ago. It is the very same path I went for a walk along this morning!
