Yes. This happened to me yesterday. I bought some snacks (bhajji)from the college canteen. But by mistake I dropped them down . And I felt very sad due to that. I cannot take them back because I dropped them on the mud. I should have been even more careful. I was having water bottle and few other things in my hand. So I didn't concentrate on this one. This is my mistake. It was quite upsetting, because I don't usually waste food, but ...
That's okay. Then I made myself compromise that , after all one learns from mistakes. 
So, hereafter when I buy something I'll put them inside the bag so that I don't drop them.

I have done that a few times. It's not so bad if you just drop a little bit or if you can still rescue it. I've spent ages preparing and cooking a meal at home only to drop it as I take it out of the oven. I'm usually quite careful but accidents happen, especially when I'm tired and trying to lift a heavy pan!

I have had some experience with accidentally throwing food. It wasn't a great experience because it was at an event and it was embarrassing so far, the wait staffs were really kind enough to help me out and remove the pile of food sitting on the floor.
