As some of you already know I was hoping to get Crystal, a 13 year old black cat who belonged to my friend. She had given her to her dad who was not sure about keeping her. Unfortunately that did not happen but I have since adopted another little girl called Abby. She was named by the rescue people because she had been abandoned and found in the grounds of a retirement property called Abby House.
At the moment she is still getting used to my dogs and to be fair there have been no major disagreements. She gives them a look of disdain as she passes but I think she is going to fit in just fine.

She is 8 years old and was named because she was found in the grounds of a retirement home of a place called Abby House. I think a lady went into the home but the cat ran off and was not being looked after. I liked the name so I kept it. She is such a sweet affectionate cat

Yes, I will never part with her. I am worried about her going outside although she has to stay in for a month. She is so pretty I'm afraid someone will steal her.

@simone10 I have to transfer her microchip today so at least she will be registered to my address. I don't know if other countries do that. but it is law here for cats and dogs.

They don't take much notice of her although I do keep an eye on them and if I go out she will be shut in her room.

She is showing no fear and is very affectionate. I am keeping her in and she doesn't seem to mind. She has been exploring the house.

@sprite1950 Cute Abby. I don't have cat as my pet.However some stray cats frequent our house looking for mice.They never climb down on road,because there are some Street dogs who are waiting for them to come down.

We don't have many strays in the UK. Dogs are always picked up by the warden but we sometimes have abandoned cats. Someone usually reports them and they will be rescued.

@Shivram59 That's sad. I can't remember the last time I saw a dog wandering the streets here, It is usually only one that has escaped from its owner and become lost but our shelters are full.

@sol_cee No Abby is only 8 years old and has adjusted very easily. Crystal stayed with my friend's dad in the end which is why I adopted Abby.

She's called a diluted tortie because she has very pale colours, orange, grey and white. She's really quite beautiful close up. The picture doesn't do her justice.

Thank you for giving her a new home and a family to call her own. She seems really calm and really really well behaved. Hope she will step out of her shell. That's normal for new pets that they have that moment of adjustments. In time she will loosen up. Please give us update of her that'd be interesting.
