Yesterday's Storm and Daily Health Report - February 9

I had the weather on this morning at 2:30 so I could determine whether I was going to the pool. Forty-five minutes later I was back in bed and then up again fifteen minutes later as I was awake. We got 7.3 inches from the storm, so yes, I'm a happy camper.
The weatherman said roads were snow-covered and slick. After yesterday's drive home from church, I wasn't going out. With all that, school is in session this morning, not even late delays. It takes more than seven inches to close things down here. Now, had yesterday's storm been during a weekday, yes, schools would have been canceled. The roads weren't safe as I can attest to. I saw traffic yesterday but it was light.
Yesterday was also a light, but high-calorie food day.
Here is what I ate yesterday and the numbers to go with it.
Breakfast - 1 Banana, 3 Eggs, 2 Potatoes w/Guacamole, 2 Slices Turkey Bacon
Calories: 722.34
Sugar: 22.2
Carbs: 87.2
Protein: 36.9
Sodium: 614.6
Fat: 23.5
Lunch - Paleo Apple-Cinnamon Pancakes - turned into mini muffins
Unsweetened applesauce - half cup, 2 Eggs, 2 Bananas, 2 Tablespoons Almond Butter, Nutmeg, and Cinnamon
Calories: 610
Sugar: 50
Carbs: 79
Protein: 20.6
Sodium: 207
Fat: 26.8
Despite the calories, this wasn't filling. It was good, but not filling.
Snack - Apple Crunch, 1 Chocolate Bar
Calories: 284.7
Sugar: 16.17
Carbs: 31.17
Protein: 4.3
Sodium: 34.17
Fat: 9.5
I thought I would need to make another full meal until I had the chocolate bar that took care of my hunger for the day.
Total Stats:
Calories: 1617.4
Sugar: 88.37
Carbs: 197.37
Protein: 61.8
Sodium: 855.77
Fat: 59.8
The only number I'm happy with is sodium. I needed to do a lot of steps to burn away the calories.
Calories burned - Steps - 5804/2.19 m - 344
Total Calories - 1273.04
I kept the calories in the 1200s at least. My weight is up a little this morning, but I'm not worried about it.
They will be plowing the parking lot in a couple of hours. I'll take the time to go shopping. There are several things I'm out of now. Tomorrow will be laundry day. I'll be back in the pool on Wednesday.
How was your Sunday and food and exercise? Thanks for reading. The picture is the maintenance man trying to snow blow the front walk. He needed to go back and forth a lot to make headway and that's with the work he did with it yesterday.

A bit off the rails with the calorie count. Here, we are experiencing Santa Ana winds which howl.

@just4him I haven't been watching a lot of news lately. But my daughter came home from work at the airport (an hour drive) and said she wasn't expecting this. If she didn't know about it I'm not sure it was very widely broadcast.

10,300 steps yesterday. Had two cosmic brownies, the famous bowl from kfc but without the cheese and corn, 2.5 of the 3 pizza lunchable crust with very little sauce on each.. not sure if there was anything else.

@Courtlynn That's great you don't make a big deal if you don't make the goal. I do my best to make the 5000 because it really helps on the scale.

@just4him 10,000 is the daily goal. But I don't get mad if I don't make it. Not a big deal for me.

Oh wow, that is a lot of snow there! It does look pretty though. Here they would cancel for less than that just because it gets bad out in the country part of where I live.
I think the numbers still look good, even though higher...and you got it down with the steps!

@just4him That's great that it looks nice outside....and that is very interesting that it would take more than that to shut things down!

Yes, they are. This snow isn't going to melt for quite a while. Our highs won't be above freezing for at least the next week. We have more snow coming, but it won't be much.

My sodium was high yesterday but today I'm scaling back to offset it.
Enjoy your day and especially your snow!

I've heard you also don't have the snow equipment to deal with the snow.

Shovelling the snow can be real work and too annoying. I think you have kept calories within 1200 and that's good enough
I am having good day with exercise and food. I checked my sugar today in afternoon after a week and it was good 128 after food. And my weight has been in same range for last decade.

Thanks, but I was very hungry yesterday and woke hungry this morning. I'm finally feeling full for the first time in two days. We'll see how the rest of the day goes.
