Mylot discussion topics then, and now: a personal observation

It just came to my mind. Back in the years 2007 to 2010, Mylot was so different. I remember that there were topic categories but the maximum ones were about Money Online earnings Earnings How to make money online So many different worded categories but with almost the same meanings. And even many uncategorized ones were about money making. Yet now, I see a change. Talk about payouts, money are still there. Yet people talk more about food, pets, neighborhood, current events and friends. And discussions seem to have more depth, and often things where one can share one's experiences in a good way. Of course, all this is my personal observation. What about you folks? What have you noticed?

I didn’t know the old myLot, but am happy I’m here now. I love meeting friends from around the world and having lots of laughs, too. It’s a wonderful place to relax, vent, learn, help, and enjoy.

Anything may be posted here as long as it never violates the community guidelines.

@Nakitakona Yes, so we have to be careful to avoid certain kind of posts.

I noticed a change for the better. I really like the new layout. Sometimes in life there are claims that something is "New and Improved". Many times that is not the case. In the case of myLot, it is new and improved and I find that so refreshing.

Mylot has been a great community for many years and has many regular members through this time. I also remember more discussions about online earnings, even for me, I was active online on a few sites and I liked to read these discussions. Now I am active only here, for the social interaction.

@besweet I joined mylot in 2007. I rejoined the next year with a new username due to a technical issue. So I count it as 12 years. Since how long have you been here?

I remember getting paid for ratings, and even comments back then which is why people responds to you in a paragraph. Sadly, they over paying us back then and they shut down for a few years then comeback.

@Letranknight2015 Yeah I remember that posting more numberwise mattered more then. But I enjoy the present format more.

I wasn't part of myLot back then. I've only been here since Bubblews went down. What I've seen since I've been here is good friendly conversation. I don't see a lot of earning posts until payday.

@just4him It is my observation that earnings and money related discussions were more frequent earlier. Some rules have changed as well. I think earlier landmark posts for number of posts, earnings etc were allowed but later disallowed.

@just4him You can try posting like "my 50,000th discussion.... ". It could pass scrutiny but it is more likely to be removed! Second thoughts: it was just an example, as you are already more than 50 K!!

@averygirl72 Well if we explore, here too we can find a variety of topics, although sports talk is quite lesser for us.

i have the same observation, although some old mylotters say the opposite, that this new mylot is not as in-depth. for me, there's more variety now.

@hereandthere May be those folks miss some other folks or some other kind of discussions? Well, things can indeed vary personally too.

I was not part of the old myLot so I cannot express any opinion. In Bubblews we had categories, people forgot to set the categories and most went to the first in the list "Animals".

@LadyDuck I vaguely remember but I do recollect that I had to map some of my discussions to a category which did not sufficiently match with the type of topic.

I joined in 2015 so didn't know the 'old' myLot. I certainly enjoy the 'new' one though.

I think in the beginning, (or to new members?) , it would be safer to just talk about general things like money . guess with time, we tend to be more open towards our friends??? (but you are right, I have the same observation, topics here have been more fun to read.)
