Fried Friday

So what is fried? My back! Last night I was having a bit of trouble with it but thought after a muscle relaxer and my anti-inflammatory medicine I would be fine when I woke up this morning. Not! This is not the first time by back has done this and there is nothing I can contribute to it hurting like this. I do have some degenerative discs in my lower back and must have moved the wrong way sometime yesterday. It is going to be a minimal day with just doing what has to be done and maybe a load of laundry. The rest of the time I will we watching television and trying to catch up on myLot. If you have any remedies for lower back pain, please leave me a comment! Photo Credit: Pixabay, public domain

I'm sorry you're in so much pain in your back. I hope something works soon for it.

Sometimes a hot pack helps although if there is inflammation apparently a cold pack is more appropriate. My back does this from time to time and really, taking it easy seems the quickest way to repair it.

The only thing I am supposed to do is go work at the flea market tomorrow afternoon. This consists of helping at checkout, returning items to correct booths and opening back door for pickup of large items like furniture or appliances. I am hoping that I can get through it.

@JudyEv I called in and said that I can't make it because of my back. I'll have to make sure I put in my day next month.

@kareng I guess you're now in the middle of this or hopefully, it's all over without too much trauma.

When I used to work I would get lower back pain simply because I sat on uncomfortable chairs for 8 hours a day. The orthopedic surgeon I went to recommended I soak in warm water with Epsom salts or vinegar, I chose the latter and it did relax my back a little. Back pain is the hardest to treat.

Yep a hot bath does help it. I will add some Epsom salts tomorrow. Forgot about that!

Maybe some heat while you rest. Hope it feels better soon.

The only remedy I know of is rest. Maybe some heat? My back is a problem all the time; but nothing can be done about it. Hope you feel better soon.

Yep, that is the way it usually goes. Rest and wait. I will have to go dig out the heating pad. My old rheumatologist used to say Ice packs. That's a bit uncomfortable especially with it cold!

@kareng Yeah, it's much too cold for ice.

Oh, girl. I have so many tips, but Lord knows which will work for you! Before I had any surgeries, a chiropractor helped (I was shocked it helped), but then I got shots in my back. I too, have depended on muscle relaxers and anti- inflammatory medications. I know you're probably looking for the non surgical or medical remedies. A heating pad often helps, but with mine I also have prescription pain medication. Lastly, a masseuse that is trained well can be heaven sent. A lady in my church offered to give me a free one, and all she worked on was my back; such a blessing.

I've done all of the above in the past along with a few months of physical therapy. I am hoping it is better tomorrow and we don't have to do anything drastic.
