Many years ago my parents bought a chain link fence for our back yard

it was our second house with a chainlink fence. This time my dad decided to do something different.
He asked the fencing company to put the poles in but not the fence.
He and I then dug a trench and laid bricks in the trench between each of the fence posts.
When the fencing was added - the bricks were literally a base for the fence.
I thought we were doing work for nothing.
Then summer came, and i didn't have to trim next to the fence. Because the bricks didn't let the grass grow!
Genius!
Did you ever question your mom or dad only to realize they were two steps ahead?

@Bensen32 well it really helped me when mowing - less trimming!

I did not see my parents enough to know if they knew what to do.

Yes Scott there is. You are very observant and right. I really do not want to get into it. They just were not parents that cared or were around much to do it.

They might have kept our Pomeranian, Ice, in the yard too! Didn't have any experiences with my mom or dad once I moved out.
