It had to be done.

My main baseball glove has been the same for the last 30 years. I may have bought this one in Bloomington Indiana, when I played on a really good softball team. The guy who guarded Michael Jordan (an American basketball legend) when Indiana University beat North Carolina in the playoffs was on that team. But a piece of leather in this glove actually broke recently. I have a backup glove, but I don't want to give up on this one, as it has a great pocket, so I actually used Gorilla Glue to fix the broken leather. Will it hold? Only time will tell. Have you done any repairs to beloved objects recently?

I did touch up one of Dustin's footballs and then put it back in the display case.

we shall see. As you can see, I used a clamp. But is Gorilla Glue good with ancient leather?

I would have done the same, try to save it. A backup is okay, but a well broken in glove is priceless.

Exactly. If a ball touches that glove, it stay's put. I'm trying to break in the backup, though.

@TheHorse I hope the glue worked. It's always good to have a back-up.

I have patched up a OSU Woody Hayes bobblehead when his "head" broke off. He doesn't bobble anymore Guess my surgery left the coach with a stiff neck Btw- I still have my high school baseball/softball glove. I use it to play catch in the yard from time to time. Of course, the glove was a bit stiff too from lack of use

I wish we lived next door to each other. I enjoy just playing catch as much as I enjoy playing in Cite League games. It's hard to find adults to play catch with. Everyone is busy with family, etc.

@TheHorse i do. He was my all-time 3rd favorite IU player. Scotty May was my English teacher in highschool (favorite) and the coach came to where I worked in Bloomington and told us we were not allowed to serve Kent Benson any treats (2nd favorite)

I tested it out a bit, and it's held so far. But could it handle really hard hit balls? I don't know! I will oil up my "backup."

It's a learning experience. This was the glove I used to catch several batting practice "home runs" at Giants games this past Summer.

@TheHorse I think I remember you posting about that experience. Frame the glove if it won`t hold with glue, or you could get it repaired properly.

I've thrown a few balls in the air and caught them, but I haven't played "hard catch" with it yet.
