1872 - The Metropolitan Museum of Art opens in New York City.
1927 - Sidney Poitier was born. He is a Bahamian-American actor and film director. He is the first black actor to win an Academy Award for Best Actor. Some of his movies: Lilies of the Field, A Raisin in the Sun, Patch of Blue, To Sir With Love, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner and In the Heat of the Night.
1966 - Cindy Crawford was born. She is an American model and actress. In the 80s and 90s she was one of the most popular supermodels.
