George Washington's Birthday National Margarita Day 1819 - Spain sells Florida to the United States for $5 million. 1878 - The first Woolworth five-and-dime store opens in Utica, New York. 1962 - Steve Irwin was born. He was an Australian zookeeper, TV personality, wildlife expert and conservationist. His TV series "The Crocodile Hunter" ran from 1996-2007. In 2006 he was killed by a stingray which pierced his chest. 1975 - Drew Barrymore was born. She is an American actress, producer, director, author, model and entrepreneur. She had her start in movies in 1982 with E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial. Other movies: Poison Ivy, Boys on the Side, Scream, Ever After, The Wedding Singer, 50 First Date and Charlie's Angels. That's for sure. It takes $500,000-$1,500,000 to buy a decent house on the Key on which we want to live. It's many times that it Key West.
