I had my own invention for dinner the other night! What did you have for dinner tonight?

I hadn't realized that I had created a totally new culinary invention until MyLot members like Maluse and Anna let me know that cheese was not a regular part of pasta, garlic, and olive oil, an apparent Italian favorite. Now, whenever I want a simple dish that will provide me with carbs, taste good, and ward off demons, I simply boil up some pasta, cook it until it is "to the tooth," and put some olive oil, freshly sliced garlic, and grated Parmesan cheese on it. It is always delicious and filling. A salad on the side adds some texture and flavor contrasts. Have you ever invented something that is delicious and simple? Do you think I have secured my position in the culinary Hall of Fame? What did you have for dinner tonight? I may have my invention later this evening.

@wolfgirl569 Don't I have to make it sound French or Italian or something?

I think, for a culinary Hall of Fame dish, you'd need at least 10 ingredients and words like 'kosher', 'organic', 'gluten free' and stuff like that.

@Courtlynn I consider food to be art! Sometimes. Other times I just want steak and potatoes. Or a Japanese Bento Box.

Yes, you have secured your position in the Culinary Hall of Fame. I invented a deconstructed lasagna. I had tomato soup with Ramen noodles tonight. Just add a package of Ramen noodles to tomato soup (without the flavor packet) and microwave.

Brilliant! Perhaps you're headed there too. But did you add cottage cheese and some other cheese?

@TheHorse To the deconstructed lasagna? Yes, I use cottage cheese and lots of pizza cheese which is a combination of mozzarella and 2 or 3 other cheeses.

I had no idea that cheese was not a must-have ingredient in a pasta dish. Have you tried pasta with butter, farmer cheese and some sprinkled sugar. Yum!
