Unpopular Opinions

Good afternoon. How are you all? A site where I contribute articles has recently started offering prizes for challenges. I entered a piece about my home town in a challenge called 'Locals Only'. I didn't win that one but I'm going to try another. The new challenge is called 'Unpopular Opinions', and I am sure that everyone (including me) has at least one unpopular opinion. Some of mine include my hatred of certain sounds like violins or birdsong, dogs are evil, and pineapple definitely does belong on pizza. The one I have chosen as my subject is this: Disney is Overrated. My eldest granddaughter was named after a character from a Disney story. I have not seen it, and I have no intention of doing so (the story, not the granddaughter). I'm no fan of princesses, and the few Disney films I've seen are all based on other things that I can read or see in other adaptations. I shall digress, though. I'd like to ask for your unpopular opinions. Do you agree that Disney is overrated? Perhaps there is something else that seems to be loved by everyone but you disagree or a general opinion that you'd like to counter.

I have many unpopular opinions, because I consider the world going in the wrong direction. Many politically correct stuff annoy me, as I consider them to make people too soft. What is the site called where you contribute?

I agree with the politically correct stuff. My biggest issue with it is that it makes people less inclined to pay attention to things that are actually a problem. The site is called Vocal (vocal.media)

@pumpkinjam many of those things are a great tool to distract the attention, especially from big problems. That is the biggest reason I don't like them. Thank you! I will look around to see if it is suitable for me.

@pumpkinjam I joined vocal, but I don't understand everything. Do we have to write long articles? Can we comment on other people articles? How can we follow others?

Walt Disney is indeed overrated and very expensive to visit.

I was looking for something for something as a treat for my step-daughterand her family as they love Disney. I couldn't find anything I'd consider worth the cost. Then again, I'm reluctant to go the the Harry Potter studios because it's too expensive- I like Harry Potter, and the studios would cost less than a tenth of a Disney trip.

@thelme55 I've got family and friends who have been. They've all said it's really good. It's on my to do list but there are so many other things on my list!

I would agree, and I know some people consider that heresy. If you want an unpopular opinion you should say Donald Trump is a good president. That is a VERY unpopular opinion, and I sure ain't saying it's true.

Saying Donald Trump is a good president might be considered an unpopular opinion. I would call it factually incorrect!

I tend to agree with you that Disney is overrated. I found it overpriced and boring as an adult, but magical as a kid.

I don't like popcorn and everyone else seems to but that's not really an opinion. Political correctedness gets right up my nose too.

I don't like popcorn either. People get so excited over it like you have to have popcorn at the cinema. It's just overpriced tasteless carpet fluff to me!

I definitely think Disney is overrated and overpriced.

I've never really understood why it's so over-priced. I mean, you could buy a doll or you could buy a Disney princess doll - they could be almost exactly the same but the Disney one is 10 times the price.
