We leave for Cancun, Mexico, tomorrow morning (Thursday). I woke up this morning with immediate feelings of anxiety. Why? I don't want these feelings. I'm not a very good traveller I guess. All those people crammed into a plane. People coughing. Smells and such. I need to get my anxiety in check as I have to read at Ash Wednesday mass this evening.
And we have a snow storm blowing through Toronto right now. Will our flight leave on time? Will it get cancelled? Hopefully it will be over 23 hours from now and everything good. And no turbulence! That last few times I have flown we've experienced a lot of turbulence.
But, by this time Friday we should be relaxing on a beach. This is a new place for us so that adds anxiety as well. If we were going to Cuba again I know what to expect, though I hate the 2 hour bus ride from airport to hotel. We won't have it that long in Mexico but I still don't know what to expect, whether our room will be surrounded by monkeys... no, literally, there are packs of monkeys hanging out outside patio doors.
Deep breaths.

I'm not too worried about that. I was more worried about the mosquitoes as Dengue Fever is rampant in the Caribbean right now. My daughter went to Costa Rica with a bunch a friends a couple of months back and on of them ended out in the hospital with Dengue fever. But, when I got my new glasses the woman I spoke with is from Mexico and she said there are no mosquitoes this time of year. Glad to hear that but still bringing my bug spray.

I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time in Cancun but I can understand your pre-vacation anxiety. I hate all the pre travel stuff before you get to your destination.

You're exactly like me. I would be just the same but think about relaxing on that beach and it will all be worth it.

Inhale, exhale. and have a great time! As for me, I have anxiety and panic attacks at times and I can hardly control it especially when I under pressure.
