This is quite interesting. North India is set to have a specialized dog park. This would come in a 1.5 acre area in sector 43 in southern part of Chandigarh.
This will have arrangements for vaccination and behavior change.
And perhaps a place for stray dogs.
There are so far two dog parks in India- Hyderabad and Mumbai.
This place could become a popular one soon.
Source :
Chandigarh will now get North India’s first dog park as proposed by VP Singh Badnore, the administrator of Chandigarh and the Governor of Punjab. Badnore had reportedly asked the civic body authority to delve into this project recently.

Yes you are right. And stray dogs in India suffer a lot, though they also become a safety threat and nuisance at times.

That would be good. I feel our country lacks that sense of caring when it comes to animals welfare. Hope more such things are promoted.

I haven't heard of a dog park here but for sure we would visit that if there is.

This is an interesting concept, but this will pick up in other cities as well.

@JudyEv
This is a new concept for me, and I wasn't even aware about two dog parks already existing in two Indian cities.

@DianneN well this city has some nice tourist attractions, and the dog park would be a great addition to this.
