A few clothes to hand wash....

Along with mylotting I have made lunch. It's still an hour to go for lunch. So I have left the rice soaked and will cook it later. Now that I have relaxed a bit after my gardening session, I will head to shower.
I have a few pairs of clothes that need handwash. I don't put them in washing machine as they are too delicate or have some embroidery and mirror work that gets spoiled in machine. I will just handwash them before taking shower.
So I will just get up and finish that. Do you also have clothes that you handwash??

Same here. Despite of all those cycles, I prefer to wash a few by hand.

@arunima25 I think hand washing is better than machine washing

Yes some clothes are expensive and need delicate care. Better to wash them with hand.

@anil02 oh! Definitely. No doubt. Clothes are better maintained that way.

You are like my wife. She also wash some of her clothes by hand because it is delicate.

It's better to do so. Machines can spoil them. They are expensive clothes.

@Alexandoy Clothes are better maintained if hand washed. I have only few that need that extra care handling.

My wife does the washing, handwash or machine wash.

She must be separating the laundry to decide which goes to machine and which one to be washed by hand.

@arunima25 Yes she does segregate those for machine and for handwashing for there fabrics which need not to be machine wash.

Better to do that. Machine wash might spoil them. Though my machine has delicate wash cycle, I still don't take risk.

It takes less time, saves energy and is soft. Recommended if you use open pots to cook rice

@arunima25 I understand.
I just remembered that I wash all my bathing suits by hand immediately after wearing to get the chlorine from the pool out or the salt and sand from the ocean.
I soak them while I shower, then hang them up to drip dry on a towel bar in the shower.
How could I have forgotten that?!?!

Even I rarely do that. Only for silk and other delicate ones. Though I have a delicate cycle in my machine, I prefer to handwash, I have only few and don't want to waste power of full load. I use them regularly and so cleaners would not be cost effective.

@arunima25 I always washed my clothes with a machine but in the last couple of weeks I have been washing everything so far by hand. I find that by doing so I really don't need as much clothes. I was every few days. I want to see how this goes. I will only use the machine for sheets and towels.

@kanuck1 That's a good practice if time and health allows. It's energy efficient also. I lack time and also don't have a very sound health to overexert myself.
