Who stole the kiszka, who stole the kiszka?

Have you ever had kiszka in tour life? I had it when I was in my younger years but haven't even seen it for the past fifty plus years until recently. Granted, I could find a Polish restaurant in Detroit and possibly kiszka would be on the menu.
Someone brought a package through my lane recently so I purchased one that night. It doesn't taste the same as my memory says it should but it's okay. The customer told me she fries onions and bacon with it and that's my preference too. It still doesn't taste like I remember and I don't know that I'll have it again but that remains to be seen. I did share half with my sister and may buy it again for Easter for the rest of my siblings to try.
I planned on making eggs with my bacon and decided to finish my kiszka instead.

I'm not familiar with Kiska either but it's disappointing when you have something you remember being so good and it isn't as good as you remember.

I know that taste buds change over time so it's not surprising that the memories of what we taste would change too. I spelled it wrong. It has a z in it. Kiszka.
I just added a link to a polka

I have had Polish sausage many times, but I never heard of Kishka. They serve Haluska in Pittsburgh though.

I'd have to look that one up as I'm not familiar with it.

Just listening to the link you gave here.
Reminds me of when my girlfriend and I were trying to move more and she was trying to teach me how to do the polka.
She was good at it (she was Finnish) but I was horrible. Still we had lots of fun and burned a lot of calories.

I enjoy doing there pills but haven't done it since when my knees began getting worse and I've not been to a Polish wedding since then.

It certainly was. My sister didn't like it either. She may save a portion of what I have her until Easter in case other siblings want to try it out. I told her it was fine with me if she wanted to just chuck it.

I'm sorry it didn't live up to your memories of it.
That's one item I would never eat. My dad would though. He liked all that kind of meats. I ate them when I was a kid because it was expected of me, but I haven't bought anything like it since I left home. I will say, that one never made it to our table.

I think I only had our at my grandma's. I don't remember having that at home ever. The main polish items we had growing up were pierogi's, pigs in the blanket made with meat balls and a soup made with vinegar we called sour soup and had with potato and flour dumplings. Otherwise we ate American foods mostly.
We also ate kilbasa sausage but that was closer to what's sold in stores now I'm thinking.

@MarshaMusselman I think I might have had a pierogi growing up. I know I had kielbasa. My dad was into all those polish meats. So was Mom.

I hadn't heard of it before. When I looked it up, there were different spellings of it so I had trouble finding the food! I see it is 'Polish blood sausage' so I guess it is similar to British black pudding. I have had that but I don't like it.
