Getting together for brunch with some relatives tomorrow

My mom is getting together with some relatives of ours tomorrow for brunch and she asked me if I want to join them. I said yes. The gathering is at 3 pm. And it's gonna last for at least a few hours. Hubby works until 6 pm tomorrow. By the time he ends work, if he even finishes on time and doesn't get held up, we are probably not gonna be there anymore. Sucks that he won't be with us. It actually happens often that there is a gathering (birthday or just a get together) from my side of the family on a weekend but he cannot be there because he works. And I have to go alone. Usually, Saturday evenings hubby and I go out to eat somewhere. Most likely, I won't be hungry by the time he ends work as I will be at the restaurant with everyone eating lots of food... Maybe I just won't eat a lot at the restaurant... so I still have enough room for food when I meet up with him.

It's hard when there are 2 food events nearly back to back - we used to have to do that with both sides of the family during holidays. In any case, you won't be starving that evening for sure .

I hope you can join the family brunch. Do you have any idea what your mother will prepare?

I would be tempted to scarf up all the good food at the gathering! I'd be hungry by then.

I follow that rule of keeping enough room for food whenever I have plans of going to die in outside or any party to attend to. Glad to see that someone else also follow the same analogy that I do.
