she would say to me. I was holding something in my hands.
well yes, mom I always wanted to say, i found it.
But I never did (I suspect fear may have forced me to keep quiet).
Did your mom ever say things like that to you?

my mom just wouldn't let us in the house. i learned quickly that washing outside in the winter isn't fun.

I can't recall that any of us really cared one way or another @DocAndersen the main thing was to be done with our chores so we could go out and play.
