eyeglasses are still better than contact lenses

I watched a documentary about a woman who used contact lenses. Since it was a requirement in her job, she wore it 12 hours a day. There were times she forgot to remove them when she went to bed so she literally slept with them. To make the story short, she got eye infection that led to a more serious health problem. She got a tumor in her face, her eye popped out. now she is blind. Am thankful that it never crossed my mind to use contact lenses. I have been using eyeglasses for 21 years now. What about you?

I don't need glasses so I never put much thought into either of them but I don't think I would use contact lenses since I don't like things close to my eyes. I would never be able to get those things in my eyes. I would just wear glasses if I had to.

My mom never slept in hers, but she wore them from morning until night because she was legally bound without them. At the time they couldn't make glasses strong enough. She wore the contacts so much though that they warped her eyes. They told her she could never wear contacts again. So she made do with the strongest glasses she could get. Of course, that meant she could absolutely not drive at night, but she never complained.

How awful for her! I use contacts sometimes when I go out and glasses at home. It’s her own fault for not handling her contacts correctly. I’ve worn them for over 30 years and never once had a problem or infection.

@Janet357 Mine aren’t meant for sleeping. They’re disposable.

I thought it would be nice, to wear contacts instead of glasses. I forgot to take them out at times and it ended up, lodged around my eyeball! After a year of wrestling with them, I will no longer use contacts, ever again!

I totally agree with you. I also heard that wearing lenses will be dangerous when you have the barbeque. I don't know whether it is a rumor or not.

I have other sick do was 13 contacts and glasses. I always remember to remove them nightly. Now my brother will forget so he has day and night which allow you to wear them all the time even when you sleep for up to 30 days

good thing you always remove them at night since it may cause some problem when you sleep with them.

Some people say that contact lenses are better than glasses, but I agree with what you've said. Wearing eyeglasses is way more safer than wearing contact lenses.
