Purple Pansy in my Garden

Not sure why these flowers are called Pansies. They can weather the storm, even survive the snow. But they are called Pansies. They come in many colors. The purple and yellow is my favorite.
I need to get more to border the back garden. They make a nice splash of color in any sized garden. They also look nice planted around a tree. Anywhere you need color these are a good choice. But they are annuals, you have to plant them every year.
Buying them every year can get pricey, and that is why I prefer perennials, they come back year after year. But these were a gift and I am enjoying the color while I have them.
Snapped this purple pansy in my garden last year.
Do you have a favorite flower? Started a garden yet? Waiting another month before I start. April 15th seems to be the magic date I am told.

@CarolDM Thank you. I can't grow anything outdoors. I have a black thumb. But indoors my plants seem to thrive. I've had my current plant for going on four years. I bought it when I first moved in here for Mother's Day. I'll be here for four years in August. So, I'm hoping I can get the rose bush to bloom indoors.

Very pretty picture. I love carnations and azaleas...just about any flower. We don't do gardening anymore. I'd like to get a landscaper in here and clear out the weeds, etc. and add some new flowering plants.

@CarolDM Yeah, it probably needs to be cut at the other house too. Hubs hasn't been there in weeks...months actually. :-(

I love pansies, yours are very pretty. I guess peonies are my favorite, but I'm not much of a gardener.
