Purple Pansy in my Garden

Not sure why these flowers are called Pansies. They can weather the storm, even survive the snow. But they are called Pansies. They come in many colors. The purple and yellow is my favorite. I need to get more to border the back garden. They make a nice splash of color in any sized garden. They also look nice planted around a tree. Anywhere you need color these are a good choice. But they are annuals, you have to plant them every year. Buying them every year can get pricey, and that is why I prefer perennials, they come back year after year. But these were a gift and I am enjoying the color while I have them. Snapped this purple pansy in my garden last year. Do you have a favorite flower? Started a garden yet? Waiting another month before I start. April 15th seems to be the magic date I am told.

That's a beautiful flower. My favorite is roses. Now that the garden stuff is out, I'm going to see about growing it indoors. I found out it's possible. I just need the right size container and soil.

@CarolDM Thank you. I can't grow anything outdoors. I have a black thumb. But indoors my plants seem to thrive. I've had my current plant for going on four years. I bought it when I first moved in here for Mother's Day. I'll be here for four years in August. So, I'm hoping I can get the rose bush to bloom indoors.

@just4him I used to be the same. My neighbor gave me a cutting of a vine she had inside and it has done well. When I think of the name I will let you know. It is very common.

Very pretty picture. I love carnations and azaleas...just about any flower. We don't do gardening anymore. I'd like to get a landscaper in here and clear out the weeds, etc. and add some new flowering plants.

@CarolDM Yeah, it probably needs to be cut at the other house too. Hubs hasn't been there in weeks...months actually. :-(

I have this purple pansy in my balcony. I bought it last week together with the golden and white color pansies. I have started planting my flower pots for my balcony already.

I love pansies. They add such a beautiful color to your yard. I tend to buy mostly perennials myself. We haven't started a garden yet, we are waiting til next month.

The purple and yellow pansy is a long time favorite of mine. I planted them underneath our deck at our home in the country because otherwise nothing would grow there, but they grew and looked so pretty.
