Back at the Hope Lodge ... and the state of the world today

Hi all,
A lot has happened since I've been on here regularly. We're actually back at the Hope Lodge again. Normally they group mom's appointments together closer so that we can do them all at once. But they weren't able to this time, so...
that's alright. We're back at Hope as cozy as we can be.
And... just like that, it seems like the whole world has gone mad over the covid-19 thing. People in this ara are now panic buying the tp, soap, sanitizer, lysol, wipes, and, so I've heard.... food. I have many thoughts on this, but will save them for another post.
Stay safe out there. Stay well. Practice good hand hygiene, avoid close proximity with people...

Are you able to get cleaning supplies and toilet paper there, Nevena?
All non-essential jobs here have been closed. Unfortunately, I am a sales person at Walmart (Walmart is a grocery/everything store here, so is considered "essential".).

@YrNemo I know right? It's like , if we run out we can go buy more. Unless it's already bought up. Makes no sense.

@FayeHazel I can't work that one out either. Just read somewhere yesterday that Hong Kong was the first one but they did so for a reason, because if they didn't grab fast, there would be nothing left in Hong Kong supermarkets. BUT Hong Kong is Hong Kong, and other countries are not Hong Kong, why copy that!

I work at a Walmart. The Home Office has also sent out memos to all associates guaranteeing 14 day's pay for anyone who catches the Coronavirus so they can go into quarantine without worrying about their job or paycheck. We are being encouraged to use hand sanitizers after any contact with another person. Walmart has made giant bottles of sanitizer available to associates at every register as well as pocket bottles for each associate to ensure we have some when we need it.

@FayeHazel Yes, it has even gotten crazy here. Luckily, Pretty and I bought our groceries for the month last Thursday before any of the hoarding started here.
I think I already told you about the new things Walmart will put into place starting this morning (March 19th). If not, I apologize... I wrote about these things somewhere on myLot, at least. Let me know if you don't find them and I'll tell you here.

Oh those are all excellent moves - esp. that 2 weeks pay. now I wish they would just enact some buying limits ….
Is it crazy at your store? Are the groceries and tp and hand sanitizer and everything all bought up?

I know you mentioned the hand sanitizer and the 2 weeks of quarantine pay -- great ideas. Do they ever clean those deals where you put your card in to pay?
