So I just talked to my sister and dad is being held at the hospital to try and get his blood sugar down so they can do the surgery on the 31st. She also informed me that they will not let us up to his room at this time and they also said that after surgery we will not be able to see him. They will let us know if or when that changes. They are trying to restrict the amount of people going in and out of the patient areas of the hospital.
Since they will not let us see him my other sister and I will not be going, just the one sister is going to go and wait and get the updated information and pass it on to us. No sense in all of us driving down there till we can see him. I would have to leave my house at 4 am to get there for the 6:30 am surgery so I will get up early that morning and wait for updates.
So my son texts me and says "Illinois is closed" Of course I am like what are you talking about. I guess Illinois is ordering people to stay at home for nonessential activities. Now, some would read that as the state is not allowing people to leave their homes..that is not the case really. You can still go to work, store or anywhere else but they would like you to stay home if you can.
At this point they are not enforcing it just asking you to stay home and only go out if you need to. So pretty much how I live my life
I go out when I need to and stay home when I don't need to go out. So sounds like nothing is going to change for me. Well and I don't live in Illinois but it is just 20 minutes drive to the south of me.
Stay safe out there and always do a little research before believing everything you hear. Use common sense and don't spread rumors, you have the internet use it to learn the truth.

@amitkokiladitya You would not think that was to much to ask but yet many people can not behave.

I'm sorry you all can't be there but makes sense.

I was in a hospital this morning, and the sign on the door, “No visitors,” did sadden me. With the possible exception of childbirth, any time a loved one is in the hospital it is an unsettling time, so the last thing everyone needs is that uncertainty compounded by not being able to see their loved ones.
Prayers for your dad’s recovery.

You can still go outside to walk around and get some fresh air.
