He Overdid It.

Good morning all. I woke up this morning at 4 am and couldn't go back to sleep. So, here I am drinking my first cup of coffee and mylotting. I'm also watching reruns of Mike and Molly. I really hate that the show is no longer on. My poor brother overdid it yesterday. My fibromyalgia was acting up big time and my feet were hurting too. It's supposed to rain today so that is probably why. Anyway, my brother wanted to start unpacking. I wasn't able to help so I tried to talk him into taking his time and doing a little every day and that I could help today when I was feeling better. He would have none of that. He ended up unpacking almost 60 boxes. I kept trying to tell him to slow down and rest some or he was going to hurt that night. He told me to stop being a Mother Hubbard. So I kept quiet. I was proved right because he could barely move last night. I wanted to say I told you so really bad but I kept my mouth shut. Why do men have to be so darn stubborn and not listen? They really have a problem admitting that they can't do things like they used to. Anyway, how has your weekend been so far?

@DianneN yes he was. He has OCD and any time he is stressed, it gets worse.

That 60 boxes to unpack is a lot of work. You are right to caution him on doing that.

He never listens to me so I don't even know why I try. It's like because I'm his sister, I don't know anything.

You're correct of course. Men can be really stubborn. I'm sorry your brother is hurting so much.

I love the show Mike and Molly. I still watch the reruns. Poor brother. I think men seem to feel they have to prove how strong and able they are. Sorry about your fibromyalgia

I watch the returns too. You are right about proving how strong and able they are. He says I'm mothering him yet he doesn't hesitate to get on to me if he thinks I'm doing too much.

The man got into a groove, and didn't want to stop! I know how it is when you get into that groove and just want to keep going! And yes, we always pay for it later! haha

I worry about him because he has a heart condition on top of diabetes. He needs to slow down a little but he refuses.

@moffittjc Yes, he is very stubborn! He remembers the days when everything came easy to him and I know it hurts his ego a little and he doesn't feel like a man if he can't do the same things he used to. But to be fair, when I first had problems with my feet and back, I felt the same way. I was in denial for a long time so I understand. The only difference is I don't have a heart condition.

I think we are all guilty of that at times. My brother is extra stubborn because I'm his sister. He thinks I am mothering him. Plus I'm his sister...what do I know

He unpacked the whole apartment in a day and a half. I try to tell him to slow down but he just gets mad and says he's an adult and for me to stop mothering him.
