Linda Ronstadt is a retired American singer who was born on July 15, 1946. She first gained fame when she sang with the Stone Poneys and recorded the song "Different Drum". It was written by Michael Nesmith before he joined the Monkees. Ronstadt has won 10 Grammy Awards, 3 American Music Awards, 2 Academy of Country Music Awards, 1 Emmy and 1 ALMA. Many of her albums have been certified gold, platinum or multiplatinum; and she has sold more than 100 million records. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
