Shades of Grey

While nothing much else is going on for us, I thought I’d go through some of my old photos. I came across this one which Vince took in Innsbruck, Austria, when we were there in 2015. Some might remember we bought a motor-home in Ireland and put it on the ferry to France and went touring around for a few months. If you want to catch up on the posts I wrote at that time, you can click on ‘Innsbruck’ in the green box at the top of this discussion. I’ll also post a link to a YouTube slideshow I made of our visit to the city. These living statues fascinate me. Does anyone know if the paint is hard to get off at the end of the day? I’m glad the little dog didn’t get painted. Innsbruck Slideshow https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOm5sUsYClY&feature=youtu.be

It's a real person. They pose like this and hope you'll give them a few coins.

I hope it was worth all the time it must have taken to put it on then take it off again.

What fascinates me is the way these people can stand still. They must have iron nerves.

@JudyEv And does it worth it to stay there all day long? With such discipline they could earn much much more, I think.

What if they get an itch? I guess they just have to ignore it.

This is beautiful, I have read that the paint takes almost three hours to put on and I am sure it takes also a long time to remove it. I am going to watch the slideshow.

@JudyEv I looked closely and the dress seems painted to me. Your slideshow was really pleasant to watch.

I can believe it takes three hours. I wonder if the dress is painted or made from grey material. Thanks for commenting on the slideshow.

@LadyDuck I wonder if she has to wash it or not. I need to work out how to make slideshows some other way. YouTube doesn't offer that platform any more.

They're both living? I thought the dog was, but I thought the woman was a statue with the way she's all one color. I remember your tour through France. I'm glad you shared this photo. It's awesome!

Some seem to like the grey colour. This guy was in Ireland.

@just4him They are essentially busking so have their hat at their feet for people to give them money.

I do not know about that paint Judy. I did not know also that you bought your caravan in Ireland.

We bought a motor-home in Ireland, left it with our son for two years then sold it. We went touring for 7 months in 2015 and another three months in 2017. Here is the motor-home on a misty day in the Pyrenees. I grew very attached to it.

They are very clever, aren't they? You wouldn't need to be hyperactive.

@JudyEv You couldn’t be hyperactive and still be a statue.

I thought it was a statue. It must be tough to stand on that pedestal all day.
