It was at this afternoon when my deputy prime minister and finance minister had announced a second co-vid package worth 48 billion dollars. Basically there is a first package of 6.4 billion dollars if I remember correct. The problem is that I do not remember what it encompass.
While it is nowhere near the 2 trillion dollars package set by USA, given the difference in the number of the population, I will like to think that the package is still a generous one. There are several measures target at the companies which I will not mention here.
As a Singaporean, they can defer my public housing loan payment and interests up to 3 months if needed. This does not apply to me. The student loan will be suspended for up to a year if the new graduates find that they have trouble paying the loan.
For all Singaporeans, we will get an amount between $300 to $900 dollars for our consumption in an one time payment. I will also be waived off all government charges. I am not sure exactly what it meant. I will like to assumed that my conservative charges and property taxes will be waived off. They will also increase additional discount to our electric and water expenses.
For the Singaporeans that need more help, there will be more wages supplement, cash grants of $800 dollars for 3 months as well as grocery vouchers for those whom stay in one or two room apartment.
Based on my own calculation on the second package, I will be able to get $1,800 or so in term of benefits and cash assistance in the second co-vid package.
Potentially I could get more but I cannot remember what is the first package about.

@id_peace It is NOT just giving cash to people--a lot concerns student loans, mortgages, food, etc.

It seems governments are trying to help the economy and the people as much as they can. It is a burden to the yearly budget, I am sure.

Yes just whether they are willing to spend it. Now my people are a lot happier knowing that the taxes and charges that we are paying to the government are used to pay for the packages.
