I Have Baked an Irish Bread

Yes, I have this evening after we have eaten our dinner. Soda bread is a traditional Irish bread which I love eating when we lived in Ireland years ago. It is very delicious when eating together with a chowder or chicken soup.
Soda bread is made of flour, bicarbonate of soda, baking powder, salt and buttermilk. I didn't have a buttermilk and so I substituted it with fresh milk and a teaspoon of lemon juice. It was easy to bake and only took 50 minutes until done. I got the recipe from our Irish friend.
Have you eaten Soda bread? What kind of bread do you like to eat?
It is already midnight here and so I am going to bed after posting this discussion. See you in your post tomorrow. Thank you. Goodnight!

Italian bread is also delicious @LadyDuck. I love Ciabatta and other Italian bread. I have baked French baguette when I was in my home in the Philippines for a few months as I couldn´t get it there in the bakery. I also buy baguette here in the supermarket, cheaper than in the bakery.

I haven't eaten Soda bread before. But since I like bread so much, I would try it. I love traditional Transylvanian home made bread the most.

This is the first time that I've heard of Irish bread. In the "imported supermarket" the last time, there was Japanese bread that I intended to buy until I saw the tag price. Oh, the ordinary bread will do, waheehee.

When I am in Pinas, I always eat our local bread especially Pandesal. Sometimes I baked rye bread there because I missed it. Gladfully, I mostly brought rye flour with me when vacationing there. Thank you @Alexandoy.

@thelme55 pandesal is great when it is baked properly. Here the pandesal in the nearest bakery is sometimes not baked well or toasted.

@thelme55 I think the one we had did have raisins in them. I'll have to look for the traditional one - maybe make one since now we have time (we just have to conserve flour here for now as it's not readily available in stores). Have a good rest of the weekend!
