I think it's time for frugal cooking

At this state, I would say that it's not time to spend more money for meals more than enough what our body needs. Perhaps, for people that has enough or more than financial capacity, it would not be a problem. It is expected that the current situation has great impact especially to class of people living within the poverty. People temporarily lost jobs and I believe that it's quite difficult to deal when our financial capacity is slowly draining out had the situation worsen. Of course the government has something to do about this but with millions of mouth to feed, it's impossible that it would reach or distribituted equally and sufficiently. Perhaps, what we have for now must be manage properly to be able to use it for a longer or extended period of time. For tonight's dinner, I only cooked a quick and easy food which I believe a frugal way but without sacrificing it's nutritive values. It's scrambled eggs for tonight.

I am cutting the portions and trying to use less ingredients, we do not know for how long everything will be available.

@ZedSmart No matter how much they are reassuring us, if people cannot work, also food cannot be produced.

@LadyDuck that is very true. This will lead to scarcity of supply, hunger and possibly violence and crime. So sad to imagine.

This has been the practice all over. Even if you are financially capable the things are not available to satisfy your normal diet requirement.

@ZedSmart Everybody, not only the authorities concerned, have to be more responsible.

The bigger problem I think is already on the picture. Though, the idea for response is I think that we do not know how to tailor yet.

This is why I purchased a bunch of canned food etc. most food will expire like bread and milk. My bills haven’t been canceled so that mean I have payments to make and no more income for a while. I don’t know what’s going to happen.

We should try to since we do not know the worst of this yet. I have seen on TV one senator speaking that we are not at our peak yet. Our cases as of this time is close to 1000 only If we're going to believe the DOH projection of 75000 cases in 3 months, we are yet far from that though I hope that this will not be realized.

During the implementation of ECQ, I make it sure to store a sack of rice and and at least a kilo of salt. In my mind, if there are no longer food available, I can survive by having the two.

@cacay1 i will cook porridge, season with salt, or dried fish add malunggay leaves in that way nutrition was not suffered although it's not much of variety that in the long run you may not like to eat repeatedly.

I try to think of ways to save without the urgency to replenish. I have now the most basic of food that is not easy to spoil Ms.D.

Scrambled eggs is not only a delicious dish, not only is it good any time of the day, but it is easy on the wallet as well. My wife and I did a batch for dinner a few days ago for dinner. Cannot go wrong there at all.

Scallions. I love to add them in the scrambled eggs as it enhances the smell removing that eggy odor.
