We're now confined to our geographical regions

The photo has nothing to do with the post but shows some of the delectable meals we had on the Queen Mary 2 in 2013.
Since the coronavirus reared its ugly head and starting spreading throughout the globe, we’ve heard of nothing else. And that’s fine but I guess the war is still going on in Afghanistan? I haven’t heard anything about it for some weeks. Brexit has taken a back seat and Trump’s wall hasn’t been getting any airplay either.
Have you noticed a lack of anything other than news about the virus? In Western Australia, we are now no longer allowed to travel beyond our geographical regions unless we have good reason. This is to stop people moving to their holiday homes and sitting out the isolation period. The numbers of people moving into holiday homes, most of which are on the seaside, was putting great pressure on the small holiday towns.
Caravan parks are not welcoming travellers either but I don’t know where caravanners are expected to go to sit out the virus. And we cannot meet with anyone who doesn’t live in the same house as we do, so golfing, jogging/walking with friends are all off the agenda. It’s all starting to get really old now.

I was thinking the same thing about all those coming back from the south of the US. Will they all be able to travel back or will there be restrictions? Guess it's anyones guess right now.

You think you should worry about the snowbirds returning home? You should be more scared about all the spring breakers. The college students came by the millions to Florida, gathered in huge masses on all our beaches, hotels and pools, caught the virus from each other, and are now heading back to all of their homes and college campuses all over the country. We can thank them for advancing the spread of the virus.

There is going to be a breaking point in all this.

We had a problem with peoples from cities who ran in holiday houses and brought there the virus. Another problem is that there are not enough beds in hospitals out of large cities, so it was perhaps not a good idea to go in a holiday house on an island.
We are always doing things differently from others because we are supposed to be the best and we don't look at others, but it is a failure this time : not enough masks, not enough tests, not enough beds in hospitals... I just hope that we will have a cure soon. We have started trials at EU level, and will have the first results in about 2 weeks.
What is the dessert on the top left looking like a pâte' en croûte ?

The backpackers in regional towns are now causing a problem. Our country hospitals won't have enough beds either. We certainly need a cure and the sooner the better.
The four photos are all main dishes I think - or maybe entrees. I post desserts later.

This is why I think that corona virus is not a natural virus. It is also used to get the attention off of anything else. That being said, I guess stopping people from changing location can slow down the spread.

@JudyEv The main goal is to get back to normal life. No matter if it is natural or made in a lab, the outcome is the same: our lives are affected and this has to be stopped.

Now that you've mentioned it, I don't think I've heard any other news EXCEPT the virus news for the past two weeks.

@moffittjc We've been over there for years too, helping out the US. It would be awful to have in the troops but I guess they were never going to miss out.

I would love to do some outdoor stuff in your several acres of land. Are you staying there now? I wonder if we can have the chance those delicacies in your photos again

@yoalldudes Let's hope it is all over by next May or we will all be very tired of it.

Yes, we live on our property and enjoy the peace and quiet. We are supposed to go to China next May (2021) and have three days on a ship so perhaps the food will be nice there too.

You are on a strict lock down. Hopefully it helps end it soon in your area.

We've had the same thing here about people moving into their summer homes especially those at beach areas. Everyone is to stay put and not go out unless it's for food, pharmacy, (essential)
My oldest daughter and family live about 5 minutes away and I haven't seen them in over two weeks. It's hard to adjust to being stuck in the house but I miss all the unexpected visits from my daughter and grandkids.

It's amazing what the news media finds noteworthy. Only the virus has hit the airwaves in a long time and talk about the Stimulus Bill to help the economy here which finally passed. That too is all about the virus.
I'm sorry you're confined to your home. At least you have Vince for company. That's a good thing.

There are 20 states that have “stay at home” orders. National parks are closed because too many people were using the time off to crowd into them.
I didn’t have my hearing aids in, but I think they made an announcement in a grocery store while I was in Indiana visiting my brother that said police were going to start pulling people over to see if they had a valid reason to be out. (Good thing I’m not from Indiana!)
Many RV parks (what we call “caravan parks” here) are also closed. I’ve seen videos on You Tube that Bureau of Land Management land in the western U.S. is still open, but it’s nearly impossible to NOT “practice social distancing” in those areas!

We're under similar guidelines here as well and the news is about nothing but Covid-19. And politics. Politics never goes away.
My husband seems to be blissfully unaware of the current situation. He's in an essential job, working on a major project that has been in the works since a year ago. He keeps texting me with bafflement that such-and-such is closed, or that he's not been getting the kind of support he needs from his company's tech department (they've been kind of busy setting up the headquarters office staff to work from home). His personal bubble hasn't really been impacted (except the inconvenience of only being able to get take-out service in restaurants) and he honestly seems to have no clue what most of the rest of the world is dealing with.

Let's hope it stays that way for your husband.
I wonder when it will hit home.
I don't quite know how to word it but I'm sure you'll know what I mean. In a way, it's good that the whole world is experiencing this. Countries/people/cultures can't be 'casting asperions' on others as we're all in the same boat. Maybe we'll all have a bit more empathy for each other at the end of it.
