So many people are unemployed right now, or on hold until this virus passes that you can't imagine people having more issues than they do right now. Still, several companies are hiring even more right now: Walmart, Dominos, CVS, and more. Do you know someone who was laid off, and are now doing something different to make ends meet? My neighbor worked at a nail salon, but once they closed those she got a job as a clerk at a local pharmacy. My guess is Doordash is booming too. It's nice seeing a little hope for some people.

In Sydney anyone non-nationals coming in are being put up at hotels at the government's expense. I should imagine that would be providing a lot of employment as regards cleaning, house-maids, kitchen staff, etc.

I actually heard that Walmart in our city was hiring, but I do not know of anyone who can or wants to go out to work in the retail sector during these times.

What about Amazon? Being run by the world richest man, they should hire too.

It's nice to hear that there is hiring going on there. Here, all those unemployed due to forced closure of companies remain idle and a bit hungry now.

I don’t know anyone who had to find another job, but happy there are opportunities out there. I, for one, would not like to be a worker outside my home in this day and age.

Everyone I know is retired. It's good to hear that some places are still hiring. I hope they are being cautious about interacting with other people.

This is the one silver lining from some businesses being shut down AND people doing all of this hoarding. It's creating a situation whereas these places that CAN remain open for business are needing more people to DO that business. So long as people are willing to do what they have to do and not just opt for an unemployment check, I think MOST people will get through this all right.
