Are you a mushroom fan?

It doesn't seem like too many people are neutral about mushrooms. It seems like they either really like them or dislike them quite a bit. I am not ordinarily a fan, but they are good for you, so I will eat them on occassion. Since it is so nice today I am barbecuing a steak outside..I have peppers and onions, but I kind of wish I had some mushrooms to go along with it. How do you feel about mushrooms?

I love mushrooms. One of my favorite struggle meals is rice with cream of mushroom soup.

I'm a mushroom lover, there are times I prefer it over meat, mushroom on pizza, pasta, cream of mushroom. We also have dried mushrooms for Chinese style cooking.

@louievill I am pretty sure I will never pick mushrooms. Someone that I replaced at work..got botchulism from mushrooms and ended up disabled because of it.

@snowy22315 button mushrooms do not grow here so we get them imported and canned. A kind of wood mushroom is cultured here and is more suited for the tropics, that is what we buy fresh. Picking fresh mushrooms is a survival skill I have not learned as yet because I don't want to make a fatal mistake.

@snowy22315 Yes, in many ways. But it's ok, and we haven't killed each other yet.

They can make things flavorful, but I don't think I would order them on a pizza for instance, although I have eaten them on them before..

When growing up, the men in the family would pick mushrooms for freezing. Then, come Thanksgiving, Christmas and all of winter, we'd have fresh mushrooms.

@snowy22315 I don't know where they went. I am simply amazed they knew the difference between good mushrooms and bad mushrooms.

I do love mushrooms even if I don't get to eat them often. Stuffed mushrooms are so good! I also like them in spaghetti, or just sauteed with some other vegetables.

We both like them and have them quite often. They were once a seasonal thing but of course you can buy them year round now.

I don't like that they seem to decay so quickly. Also, they aren't very exciting to eat plain. They need to be doctored up somehow.
