Paid more for fresh coffee beans than usual

Hubby went to Whole Foods Market yesterday to get fresh coffee beans. Because of this coronavirus thing they are currently not selling the coffee in sacks from which you pick the amount you want, put into a paper bag, and weigh. It comes prepackaged.
He paid $11.99 for a 12 ounce pack. Usually we pay $11.99 per pound for the coffee he got. Twelve ounces of it would come out to $8.99 if we picked it from a sack and weighed it. This means the prepackaged pack cost $3 more. Same coffee, just already prepackaged, for a higher price. Not fair!
Also, add on the toll and money spent on gas, and it's very expensive coffee.

I think that's what is going to happen to a lot of goods out there.

I needed to get aluminum trays (that you throw away after use). The store I usually get them at where they sell it for 4 trays/$1 was closed. I saw similar trays at the supermarket, though not exactly the ones I get, selling for about $6 for two trays. I needed them but didn't get any. Way too expensive. Went to Dollar Tree and they had those trays in stock. Paid $1 for two of them. More expensive than 4 for $1 but still way cheaper. I got four trays.
From a business standpoint if there is high demand raise prices and make more money. But I think it's cruel to do so at a time like this, especially when many people are out of work temporarily and are financially struggling.

@lovebuglena Happy you got those trays.
I know just what you’re talking about.
I know farmers are having a tough time now.
Expect more high prices.
The needy are going to be left in the dust without help.

Not everyone is gauging. You can increase the price within the legal limits. It will be very high but still allowed. That's not right either.

It's almost inevitable that prices are going to rise.

Forget about sales etc. Companies will sell products at the highest amount they can get away with.

It's not about having the coffee on sale. It's the same coffee so should be the same price. It shouldn't cost more just because it's prepackaged. It's not like its ground.
At my local Russian store regular jumbo eggs (white or brown) used to be under $2 then became $2.29 and now $2.99. That's expensive. But at least the eggs exist, so I get them. My local supermarket was all out of eggs both times I went there.
