Our whole family is thinking about starting vegetable gardens.

We have stopped thinking in our family that this pandemia will last only weeks. In fact, we feel that after this ends (in many months) there will be a big economical problem and veggies will be difficult to get and very expensive. There are things we cannot have as we live in a big city. But plants are something we can get. I hope we do it. Are you worried also about groceries in the next months?

Yes I am worried after seeing most of the stores around here wit empty shelves, But I did find one store that has most everything and they finally got some toilet paper in but not much but we can not find paper towels, hand sanitizer, gloves or masks but good thing I have all that here at home except for paper towels.

My family and I are thinking about what will happen some months from now.. We are not sure that a store or two will be able to help a city of millions of people as Santiago.

I am concerned about the horror stories of employees dying at work from the Coronavirus.

I have seen in the news stupid people saying that they donĀ“t care as "they have always been very healthy."

A little worried, but not too much since we will just figure it out. It is a good idea to do a garden, that is fun and also useful!

That's a great idea! In fact in my parents' house I already told them to plant the vegetables in the balcony. You have a garden and this is ideal. Don't waste this treasure

That sounds like a great idea, not only will you be getting much fresher food, you will have something to occupy your time. It is definitely economical, as in the end you are basically getting it for free. I ordered strawberry seeds. I hope they get here soon, they should be.

I am trying to encourage my dad to do this. Doesn't hurt to have an outdoorsy hobby during the spring, but also to have that extra food supply just in case.

It's good to think ahead and be realistic. This virus has changed the world. If one has an area to plant a garden that would be very wise.

I am planting as many vegetables as I can this year, at least we are going to have something to eat. For grocery we are storing everything we can, to cover at least 6 full months.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if some products become hard to get although we do have market gardens in our area.

There are still shortages in the stores which I don't understand. The hoarders should be stocked up by now. I hope the prices don't continue to go up due to supply and demand.

We've been talking about this amongst each other in our family. My brother is thinking about raising some quail in his yard, as there are fewer restrictions on them in his neighborhood than there are on chickens. Our local nursery has curbside service right now, and I'm thinking about ordering some plants.
