I wonder if I'm one of the oldest first time Grandma's ever, since I'm close to seventy. The daughter that had this cutie pictured here is just under thirty and I didn't have her until I was thirty-nine.
She delivered naturally with an epidural, petocin, and a few stitches which is fairly common. Although her baby boy was 9 pounds 5 ounces and 21 inches long. Ouch!
You'll have to turn your page upside down when I do that it increases the size for some reason. Maybe it still won't work. If no pic arrives then it's back to the drawing board after my appt.

Congratulations to you all. I thought your daughter must be in Australia!

@MarshaMusselman Because it is upside down. You obviously do not use the same terms in the USA. England being in the Northern Hemisphere and Australia in the Southern so if you look at a globe it looks upside down to us!

@garymarsh6 I've heard upside down related to Australia but I don't think of it that way and wasn't making the connection. I'm sure others here were quicker to get your little joke.
I looked up why it's called that and I don't think a globe was factored into the original reasoning. When I look at a globe nothing looks upside down. But one is up and they are down there. If south America was smaller it might follow the same thought pattern on our side of the pond but I'm wondering if it were the Australians themselves that began using those terms.

Thankyou, he is isn't he? I've not seen too many babies that aren't cute.
I guess I didn't realize I already replied to your response.

@MarshaMusselman For us we just wanted to be super ready before starting a family. We dated since age 18 but did not actually get married until age 34. I'm glad we waited . . . my head was somewhere else in my younger days.

That sounds very much like me. My first was when I was 36, then this daughter at 39. At least they are not waiting so long as me but it's rather they be married first which I wasn't between 26-35. Therefore the wait.

Did she have her kids later in life or maybe her kids waited longer before having the grands?
My siblings that are younger than me had their kids when there were in their twenties so they were in their forties when they became grandparents. I'm sure I'm not the oldest but it feels that way. But is rather be there oldest than not having any at all.

I think the only way that I can hold him or help our is it I took off a month to self quarantined first just in case I've gotten too close to any customer or am asymptomatic. But I don't know yet what's best to do.

@MarshaMusselman For now, that would be the only safe way. Take care.

I'm sure too. It will be better once I'm retired in two years or can drop down in hours but once we can spend actual time with the little guy will make it easier to wait.

It will be awhile before I can hold him with the situation with the virus. Tonight we'll have some type of video chat with baby in site unless he's sleeping.
