This morning it is beautiful. It is on the verge of being warmer the skies are sky blue and all the appleblossom it is bloom. This is my most favourite time of the year when bulbs and trees are blooming preparing for the summer months. Two of the most famous sights are: 1) Sakura pink cherry blossom throughout Japan. It usually lasts for around 2 weeks in April starting in the South of Japan and continuing on progressive dates the further north you go. 2.) A couple of years ago I visited Washington DC at the height of the Blossom season where we were given the most amazing sight of the Cherry blossoms lining the Potomac river donated to Washington by the Japanese. The first two trees were planted in 1912 and are still standing today along with 3018 others! The photo I took this morning and although it is not a cherry blossom it is apple blossom which is as equally beautiful until you have to sweep up the fallen petals. I used to have a massive ornamental cherry tree in my garden that was beautiful but was becoming dangerous. I called a tree surgeon in to deal with it. I was really sad to hear him say it was over 100 years old. I felt like I had murdered something having had it chopped down.

Fruit blossoms of any sort are very beautiful. I'm sorry you had to cut down your cherry tree. I can imagine how sad you felt.

Pink cherry blossoms are my favorite, too bad they go away so fast.

It is warm (too warm) and beautiful here too, I worked in the garden, now I am paying this with itchy eyes due to the pollen. I love the trees in Spring, the magnolia trees have already shred their flowers and they are growing the leaves, that is a shame.

@garymarsh6 I see the daffodils and the hyacinths in the gardens right now, it is a shame not to walk in the woods to see the bluebells. Our police is really busy stopping the Swiss German tourists from coming here today.

@LadyDuck Good. What do they not understand about lock down. We too have many morons breaking the social isolation quarantine. They fine them a paltry £60 which is nothing. I think it should be £1000 which would be a far better deterrent!

Magnolia is my favourite tree Anna. So sad the flowers do not last long. No countryside drives for us to see all the bluebells either this year! I bet they are gorgeous right now !

No I have been to the USA many times luckily for me. The first time was in 1981 when I went to California which was quite a rarity a Brit going all the way over to that side of the USA. I fell in love with America. My eyes were like saucers everything was so beautiful and big in comparison to the UK.

@Hannihar Although we were based in San Francisco we drove down to Anaheim and went to Disneyland and universal studios. We stopped in Monterey on the way down. We had the most wonderful time. I walked over the Golden Gate Bridge flew over it drove over it went under it in a boat. Walked and walked our legs off. I liked Sausalito across the bay! Everything was just perfect to me and lobster on fishermans quay was superb. I also enjoyed riding on the trams! What great fun and the views are fantastic. I walked up and down Lombard street I was in my element! The only thing I thought very funny was when people would hear our accents and ask us to speak English! I should write a post about it Hanni !

Yikes! Sorry about your tree! I have a weeping cherry in my yard up north that lost a huge branch during a blizzard that subsequently sent us off to Florida. Hubs trimmed it and it grew back. It’s in full bloom now. My son’s cherry tree is also in full bloom. Our trees ate placed in the lawns, so no chance of slipping.
