Last time I posted: Lessons Learned From Covid-19 Lesson No 1: Be Careful What You Eat. Now the second lesson that I will share is not something new. It's something that we always hear from our parents ever since we were little. Wash Your Hands! Supposed to be, we should have been more mindful of this action and it should have been a habit. We touch our faces with our hands more than two thousand times a day. We scratch our face, our eyes, pick our noses, scratch our ears, or even cover our mouth and nose with it when we cough. In between, we touch our cellphones, doorknobs, handrails, walls, etc... So even if a virus, like the covid-19, is not airborne, it could stick and stay on any surface for certain periods of time. We touch the surface then, absent-mindedly, we touch our face, thus getting the virus and/or other bacteria. Worse, we often forget to wash our hands before we eat. Some even have a nasty habit of touching the rim or mouth of a drinking glass with their hands. These days, people are bringing hand-sanitizers or small bottles of alcohol in their pockets and frequently wash their hands with it. I hope they (and you) will continue this habit even after this crisis. Remember: Cleanliness is next to Godliness. Stay clean and stay safe.
The Covid-19 is one disease that currently is crippling almost all countries all over the world. For the first time in recent history, almost the whole world is...

True... it has become part of our subconscious. Especially before and after we eat meals. But think about this... you are eating snacks like Doritos or some chips or a sandwich, and at the same time you are texting or playing with your phone. Or do you always wash your hands after you opened a door, hold a handrail?

@MommyOfEli2013 Hehehe... and believe it or not, I believe that the cellphone is now at par with the keyboard as the dirtiest item that our hands often touch.

Yes, you are right. Washing hands is a very important precaution at present. Here we also need to wear a mask to go out. And no gathering is another suggestion to avoid any risks.

With the washing of the hands, I guess that is in our culture already. But with the touching of the part of the face, that is a common mannerism that we should stop.

I have always washed my hands many times a day and always before touching the food, before eating, every time that I come back home from outside. It's not difficult for me to remember.

I’ve been a germaphobe for years, so I’ve always done those things. Now, I sanitize everything that comes into my house. I will do that even after the virus is gone.

@jrlcentral Thank you for sharing that with us. It is normal to wash your hands, but, it seems like now we need to wash them more.
