Self Isolating....

Self isolating, social distancing, Covid 19 and toilet paper....all linked in our minds.....forever. I've been taking a walk almost every day. Fresh air and exercise keeps me sane. Meals have become entertainment as well as nourishment. Grocery shopping was an adventure (another discussion?) that required a off planning. My sewing room is my solace. One quilt, started years ago is completely finished. Hand appliqued, hand quilted, now, bound and washed. How are you occupying your days?

We stay at home, we were not even allowed to go grocery shopping (no one over 65 in the stores ), I walked every morning, I take care of the garden and (with my husband) we are cleaning room after room and getting rid of everything we do not need.

Beautiful job on the quilt! The time that I have saved by not having to commute anywhere has been lost in having extra traffic in the house and a perpetually growing list of projects in process (some of my own choice, some at the request of others).

Your quilt is beautiful, I hope that you keep that one, to remind you of the days during self isolation. I was hoping that you would leave your sewing room and post, I'm glad that you did. I take calls for our bank in a contact centre, and since many of the branches have closed, we are an essential service. A lot of our customers do online banking, but even that has its flaws as to the extent to what you can do independently, hence a phone call into us. Many of our older customers only go into the branch to pay their bills, they have been calling us to transfer the funds from their accounts to their merchants, and in many cases add merchants. If anything I have worked twice as many hours since 2020 began.

I've peeked in on mylot a time or two...but mostly I'm trying to be a little bit productive. We've spoken to one of our children almost every day.

@Morleyhunt I am working on the computer and watching TV. When not on computer or watching TV I read and run errands and do chores around the apartment.

@Morleyhunt They can't ticket us. We aren't in lockdown. There were two of us there on 250 acres.

It's been tough but trying to think less of what's happening outside and making myself engaged with more of the productive things

Right now no work at all, also nothing to do. Mostly I am playing gaming these days, but surely spending whole day without doing nothing is too hard for me. Even my TV is not working right now and I can do nothing with it. No repairing no new one.

Such a beautiful quilt! You can see all the love and time you put into it. I'm more or less doing the same thing now as before because I'm retired.

I think your needlework is impressive but I have told you that so many times. It is beautiful. We are keeping busy doing all sorts of things. The nice thing is that you do not have to rush things as you are not pressured to rush and get out of the house! Everything is far more leisurely! Stay home stay safe!

Today, sleeping in, baking a cake (in the oven as we speak!), organising some stamps. Reading, stitching -- made J a couple of fabric face masks when he goes out.

Very nice! Are you keeping or giving away? As I work from home, I have been blessed. I like to do myLot too though, so as not to be a hermit!

I guess for introverts who already have work from home, there's not much of a difference.

Wow, that quilt is exceptional!! You are very talented. Grocery shopping is always a challenge here. Have to find some half and half today. I am down to half a pint. Should try to get a gallon if I can. LOL

It's an opportunity, I feel, to get lots of projects finished. Certainly we need to keep ourselves occupied. Shopping gets to be quite exciting when you only go every fortnight.

My work as a substitute teacher is cancelled until September. I am a bit lost. I am slowly sewing a jelly roll rug. My friend thought it would be a good project for me. Good thing, as my other project seems to be creating stains on carpets. Your quilt is gorgeous.
