Homemade hair cuts

I just read a post from Ghost Writer about cutting her own hair.
Since all the hair salons are closed, we're all looking a little shaggy. Yesterday our son came over for supper (he wore a mask, we didn't hug or touch the same utensils, etc), but it was wonderful getting to see him in person.
His Office Depot store is still open, so I'm thankful corporate hasn't closed it. His son, our 16 year old grandson has been staying with our daughter's family in Charleston, SC so our son goes home to an empty house every night.
So, it's nice he can come over once in a while. He had mentioned wanting me to trim his hair, but got a hold of some clippers and went to town, so to speak!
He didn't do too bad, considering it's hard to cut your own hair. I just snipped a few spots to even it out.
My husband decided he wanted me to cut his hair. I'm not so familiar with using clippers, I've cut it with scissors years ago, but I said, "Okay, let's go for it!"
I think I did okay. I see a few spots I need to even up. If he just doesn't look too long in the mirror, I think we're good.
I don't dare try to cut my own hair. It'll just have to grow. I haven't put on makeup since this quarantine has started, so who's going to care about my hair?
Like Ghost Writer said, if not being able to get to my hair stylist turns out to be my biggest problem, I'm truly thankful.
Y'all stay well.

It can really put things in perspective, can't it?

Was it hard to do? I've trimmed mine a little at times, but I usually regret it, lol.

@1creekgirl Not at all. Trimmed my bangs and the ends. But it is getting really thick.

My hair looks horrible (bad news) I am in lockdown so not such bad news - I sent a picture to my sister and she laughed so hard she cried - totally worth it. Great news.

That's funny. I bet it doesn't look quite that bad, does it?

My wife is my barber so it hasn't made any difference in my appearance. I did, however, videotape the whole process for the heck of it and posted it on YouTube. It's been my most active video since then. I really didn't think it was all that fascinating.

I have been cutting my own hair for years now. I learned that to keep it shoulder length once it grows longer I just wash my hair and while it's wet I trim it up to my shoulders and I am done. Then even out my bangs and all is well.

We'll all be thankful if we don't get sick or lose our jobs.

That's good you have your own personal hair dresser! Not only are all the salons closed, my hair dresser just had twin girls!
