play equipment is all sold out

Since the kids are stuck at home and can't go to parks, they're getting a little stir crazy. I've been looking around for things like swing sets and climbing domes (like the one pictured above), but most of the ones that would work for us (allow more than 100 lbs of weight at once, which would be sturdy enough for more than one child to play on at the same time) are sold out until at least the end of July!
It's a little frustrating to not be able to buy ANY play equipment that will be age appropriate and work in our back yard when it's only the middle of April. I guess everyone else with a little yard and children had the same idea.

I think they're trying to make more, but it takes time.
I wish I was handy enough to figure out how to build something.

I haven't been to any stores, I've been looking online. There are home improvement and gardening stores open, but I still haven't been to them.

@spiderdust I have checked online stores because I needed a few things, but the delivery is so slow now.

@LadyDuck It really is. The climbing structure in the photo above? It won't be available until AUGUST!

That goes to show that almost everything is affected by the virus. We just have to be more patient. Yesterday our car's window wouldn't roll up so now I have to look for a mechanic. All car shops are closed.

Someone at our house just said that he wanted to go take the car to get washed (it's covered with pollen and lawn clippings). We all looked at him and said "...and where are you going to find a car wash that's open right now?"

It's a shame you can't find anything for your yard. This virus has affected more businesses and availability than we thought.
Hope you can find something somewhere so your kids have something to play on outside.

In the meantime, they've been throwing around a Frisbee (and hitting the door, and the windows, and the side of the house...
).

That is rough. I had a friend who was looking for a swing set for her kids and she is going through the same problem. Hopefully there is something somewhere you can fine or when in doubt...cardboard boxes make great castles, spaceships, restaurants and all that, just make sure they don't have giant staples in them...learned that the hard way when I was little haha

They're already playing with the boxes, so that's a tried and true kid-approved option.
Unfortunately, they are badly needing to be active, which is why I was looking for swings and climbing structures.

@spiderdust Oh man, time to build a kid-friendly Ninja warrior obstacle course! Or have a field day!

Oh, they have room to play, but they are badly wanting to run and jump and climb.
I may buy them some hula hoops.

Ah, I remember as a kid playing all day with a ball and a penny and whoever hit it and had it turned over got a point! Then good old stuff like hide and seek, volley ball, etc.

They've been playing lots of hide and seek! And lots of Monopoly Junior and Mastermind, lots of Frisbee throwing, and lots of digging holes in the dirt.

I'm wondering what else everyone's already bought that I haven't realized I need yet.

@spiderdust
That must be very frustrating for you and the kids. Sorry, it did not work out.
