I do not know what ads you see. I am in Kansas and my feed is full of adds for personal protective gear.
Including fabric "tubes" that come up over your mouth and nose.
And hats with plastic face shields.
I wear protective gear but honestly find it suffocating. It is easier to just stay home.
The pictures are interesting to look at though.
Leave it to us to turn safety into a fashion statement.

I actually made a tube face cover. Cut the leg off a knit pant that was too short. It was pretty comfortable, not sure how effective.

Those hats with the attached shields... does one have to keep wiping them with sanitizer every time one goes out, and do they come in a sunglass variety? And do they fog up? How does one sneeze into their elbow while wearing one? So many questions...

Have not seen them as sunglasses. Impossible to sneeze to elbow, you just sneeze and gunk up your face shield, then sanitize it all over inside and out. I wonder if the shield comes off so you can wash the hat.

I remember watching an episode of a show where people tried to make the best outfit, and one person made a face mask to go with theirs. Everybody loved it for some reason. If only the masks now were fashion only. We'd look silly, but at least it wouldn't be because of a pandemic.

Over the years I have seen people wear the hospital kind even without a pandemic. Someone on FB said we should just all have fabulous scarves and wear them over our faces.

Yes, no need to overspend. When you must go out, though, you should protect yourself somehow. I like the ones that tell us how to make things at home with little to no sewing.
