Can you see what I have in my trunk? I can get more where this came from (Safeway). Yesterday, at Safeway, there were boxes of eggs, rolls of paper towel, gallons of regular milk, and rolls of toilet paper everywhere. Are things becoming more available where you live?

That's gold in your trunk! More valuable than most stocks.

At my store, there was NO toilet paper other than single rolls of Market Essentials scratchy paper for $1 a roll. No bags of flour at all either.

I haven't checked flour. I actually scored some frozen Stouffers lasagna that was quite good. I may go back and look for more.

@TheHorse I was making my rounds through all the aisles yesterday since I wouldn't be back until Monday morning. I have a list of things we keep adding to as we run out or realize we're lacking. I didn't need any flour, but did notice the completely bare shelf where flour would usually be kept.

@spiderdust I did a quick "research project" today. The paper towel was gone. There was still some toilet paper there. I WAS able to "score" some more Souffer's lasagna. Eggs were still there, but milk was low.

Do you have any idea how they made that happen there?

@TheHorse Switzerland has "strategic stocks" of all main goods for 12 months. I do not have the full list, but I am sure that eggs, milk, sugar, coffee, paper toilet, rice, pasta and flour are part of those goods. I know for sure that at the beginning of the year they proposed to remove "coffee" and the population was against. What a relief!!!

Hubs found everything we needed last time he shopped. Hang on to that! It could be worth its weight in gold!

I sold some rolls from the parking lot today. And one high pressure shower head. It was a good day.

@JohnRoberts My parents used to drink this thing that was basically a martini, but with a tiny onion in it, instead of an olive. I think they called it a gimlet.

Flour still seems to be scarce and frozen vegies were a bit light on last time we went shopping.

@TheHorse Yes. We have market gardens nearby too so fresh fruit and vegetables aren't a problem.

I still see somethings low, and clorox wipes are nowhere, but really those are a luxury, you can make your own cleaner with a rag

We've been fortunate to get most everything we've went for since this pandemic broke out. The only thing we couldn't find were dry pinto beans, which eventually we did after a few weeks of patience.

@TheHorse All dry beans and rice and meats were just as hard if not harder to find then tp here. Mike and I always keep a good supply of pantry/ freezer foods but we were out of pintos and had to be patient to get a bag. Being in the south, it's a staple for most. Thinking with everyone home, not eating out as much, pintos make a good and cheap meal.

@Dena91 Ah, I hadn't thought about location. I rarely use fresh dried pintos in my cooking.

Not where my sister lives in Bermuda the shelves are bare because people are buying food and stuff like the world is ending so now people can only buy two items of each item in the store but people are still buying groceries like the world is ending I was there today and no one is reducing on anything its ridiculous too me,

Well done. When the panic buying emptied our shelves here we found toilet paper 50 miles away in Perth. Things are becoming more available here but people , although less in number, are still going to stores early in the morning and buying stuff up. Some stores in a town near us do limit what people can buy In our town, with only one decent store, this is not the case.
