Are there any Corona related changes you'll keep after the quarantine is over?

I got to thinking about all the ways people all over the world have adapted life to existing in this pandemic.
Of course the obvious are wearing face masks and gloves, keeping six feet of distance between each other, only leaving home if it's necessary, and adjusting to school and some jobs online at home.
There are lots of other ways we've changed our way of life, sometimes depending which part of the world we're in. I think when this is officially over, there will probably be some life changes that will remain.
I hope hugging will return and people won't be afraid to show affection. It will be a good idea, though to be more aware of viruses and germs and try to prevent the spread of illnesses.
I believe many of us will feel a new appreciation for family and friends. Maybe we took for granted the privilege of visiting our grandkids any time we wanted. Or being able to see our doctor whenever we needed to. Or being able to get a hair cut!
What are some things you've changed for Corona that you might keep when it's gone? Hopefully they'll be positive changes.

*I CAN stretch groceries for 2 weeks. I can make use of everything we have if I really think about it and make the effort - and be less wasteful.
*I CAN live super frugally - even more than before. I love to go out to eat, but we haven't . . . I enjoy cooking now and love that we are not spending oodles of money on restaurant food.
*I CAN keep clean and be organized. This time has made me a better cleaner and I have gotten better organized . . . now I hope to continue and maintain the work I've done. I am good with getting rid of things I could not let go of before.
But like others mentioned, I just know I will be thinking more about being in public, cleanliness, interaction, etc!

You've pretty much summed up what many are probably feeling.

It will have to be totally gone before I get near people and crowds...and I ALWAYS stay away from people that are coughing and sneezing.

It's good really for all of us to be aware of germs like that.

I certainly wash my hands a lot more and for a lot longer than before. However, I am not seeing any positive change, I know I won't be hugging as many people as I did before.

I know I'll be more aware of possible illnesses of others I'm around. I don't want to be paranoid about it, but at our age, we really do need to be careful.

The hygiene part is something I would like to keep. Washing hands often seems like OCD ,but I guess it a great thing to keep. Buying less, using what we have and trying not to waste - are some of the things I did earlier as well but I have become even more convinced about if that was possible.

I was never a really wasteful person, but I'm definitely more aware of it now, so that's one good thing from this horrid virus!

Are you saying you exercise more since the virus and probably will continue to?

@1creekgirl Yes I do. Before I almost didn't. Now I do almost every day. Every second day is stronger excercise.

I was thinking about bringing this up in a discussion today! I was wondering how many changes we would bring into our post coronavirus world. I'll still hug people (if they let me
), but I think people will be less inclined to shake hands.
One thing my dad's family has done (mainly my female cousins and aunts) is Zoom every night at 9pm. I finally figured out how to do it on my Kindle, and it was nice. There is a little talking over each other, but the conversations are hilarious. I think they'll still do that after the quarantine is over, although obviously not every night.

We've done it once a week with our kids and grandkids. It's fun seeing their faces, now I can't wait to hug them.

I can go grocery shopping once a week only. We can get rid of a lot of old magazines, newspapers, books, clothing and keep our cabinets and shelves cleaned and organized. We can very well stay at home a lot more and enjoy our home and our garden.

I think a lot of us have realized we don't always need to be busy doing stuff.

Me, too. I always thought, "Well, I can just run to Walmart", but now I think about what if they're out of what I need?

I'm still enjoying the laid-back, peace and quiet stay-at-home mode. But hubby is working from home. My university-aged children are at home doing online classes. My two teens are still homeschooling.

Do you have to be much involved in your teens' homeschooling? Our 16 year old grandson is staying at his aunt's and he pretty much takes care of it himself. And sometimes helps the 10 year old cousin.
