Gnats!

The weather has been very nice here and no rain since the storm that brought all the limbs down Sunday before last. I have gotten a good bit done in the yard, but all of that has come to a stop.
Why, you may ask? I got into some gnats that left bites all over me. I'm not usually one to be bothered by mosquitoes so I usually don't bother with Off! I will not. This is one miserable thing to go through. The bad thing is that you don't feel them bite you until hours later and the whelps evolve.
Hubby got into them a few days before I did. We were both outside for the same time period. He got bit, but I didn't. I made up for it though. The worst area is my scalp. It makes me want to pull my hair our. My whole head is sore.
So enough whining from me, but now you know where I've been the last few days and why I've been quiet. Have you ever been bitten by gnats? I think it is worse than mosquitoes!

@kareng Thanks for letting me know they're different. I need to keep my bananas in the fridge when the first one arrives on the scene every spring. So far so good. None in sight. Another trick I learned last year was to put them under a bowl. The fruit flies can't get at them or know they're there. I also need to take the garbage out more often in spring and summer. Another reason why winter is my favorite time of year.

No. You poor things! I hope both of you get over it quickly. Aloe is good for everything and
it'll soothe you.

@kareng
That's so sad for aloe is so helpful. Hydrocortisone cream could be helpful too. I hope things go well for you and your husband.

No bugs here at all unless I ever have plants indoor with soil then the gnats come.
There are no mosquitoes here.

I had no idea that gnats could bite! I just thought they flew around your face, ears and eyes and annoyed the crap out of you!

@moffittjc This was the first time they ever got me. Everything bites my hubby. He is a magnet. I see now why they annoy him so much.

@LindaOHio Me too! I'm just glad I'm not allergic to them. Hopefully, the gnats won't be around much longer!

I can't remember but I might have when I was young. I know how uncomfortable those gnat bites are. You might need to inspect your garden or surrounding plants. Feel better soon.

@DocAndersen That is where they like to hang out! The woods provide a bit of shelter for them and cooler. We have woods on 2 sides of our property and a third one that is overgrown.
