Simply Jif ~ Simply Cut My Finger

Was planning to write a review about Simply Jif peanut butter. Never tried this one before. Suppose to have half the sodium and sugar as regular Jif. As much peanut butter as I eat I decided to give it a try. As I started to open the jar, the cardboard thingy on the top of the jar cut my finger like a knife. Yikes it hurt. Paper cuts seem to be the worst. But I will survive. After I got the bleeding stopped, I tried the peanut butter. I tasted nothing different. That is a good thing. I will buy this again and use scissors to open it next time.

It's ridiculous how often I hurt myself simply opening things.

I agree with those who have mentioned how simple it is to injure yourself opening ordinary things. I'm pretty sure I once injured myself on a PB jar much the same as you. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Jif is one of the brands I go for the most.

@CarolDM I switch between Smucker's and Jif. I've also bought Peter Pan as well.

@CarolDM Yes its true about our likes but if I can't get Skippy I will get Jif, I think I grew up with Skippy so that is what I prefer. Its like salad dressing and mayo there are two camps.

I'm glad it doesn't taste any different. Good idea using a scissors next time. I'm sorry you cut your finger. I agree. Paper cuts are the worst.

Working with mail every day, Jay often gets those darn paper cuts! He super glues it, then keeps going:) Does it still burn? Yes, they certainly do hurt

I am not good with tasting things from different brands. I once tried to check out the peanut butter from an expensive brand to others and had to admit defeat. They all tasted the same to me.

I am gonna have to remember that if I happen to buy Simply Jif. I bought some almond butter the other day as something different, maybe a tad healthier than regular PB.

Those seals are a pain. A good pain though since you know your food wasn’t tampered with. I usually stab it with a fork and then move the fork around to tear open the seal.
