What are you having for lunch? Soups during fall.

Today fall rang out bells and filled our houses with cold. I got up later than usual and discovered that I was still using my flip flops as slippers in the morning. So, after going to the toilette in a jiffy, I dived into my closet to get a pair of winter slippers. I have several pairs of slippers made with thick lamb´s wool. The people there knit the wool (all is handmade) and make the warmest slippers you can imagine. I have several of them and I wash them in the washing machine, inside a bag. Now I am cooking my lunch. I made a chicken broth but I will use part of the chicken breast for a soup with potatoes (I have a couple cooked), some rice (I have cooked leftovers) and sweet peas (I´ll add that at the end. I will have a mug of chicken broth while I watch TV. Meantime, the rest of the lunch will be cooked. Do you change your lunches and dinners depending on the seasons?

A day in a season of cold, huh. Soup is good to keep warm. Yup, I have hot broths, too, when the temperature turns me into a popsicle.

Yes, I change our lunches and dinners depending on the season. We usually have a hot soup for dinner in winter, no more now, but still something warm. During summer I prepare cold dinners.

At a certain time of the year my feet turn from HOT to COLD in a night. That´s when I have to wear slippers and start with soups, and casseroles.

I don´t cook soups during summer but as soon as the weather chills, I start thinking about soups and casseroles.

I always cook it from scratch. And I add oregano from my own garden.

I only wear my flip flops when it’s warm enough in the house and outside. We eat the same foods year round.

It used to be around the same temperature. But suddenly I discovered that it was getting very chilly at dawn.

I bought lovely warm woollen slippers in Nepal. It's nearly time to fish them out of the cupboard.

My feet thanked me after I took away the flip flops. The temperature at dawn is too chilly although later it warms up.

Get those tootsies warm! We use the oven pretty much never when it is the summer. It is just way too hot. We only use it on the days where it is gloomy and it isn't already feeling like an oven haha

I eat light most of the time, but I make more soups and stews in the winter and more sandwiches in the spring and summer.
