Experience so far with Prolific

I joined a survey site called Prolific recently. After a study (that's what they call a survey there) is completed it has to be approved by whoever created the survey to be credited the money it pays. I did six studies so far. Three of them were approved and I was credited, while two are awaiting approval. One shows a status of "timed out" for some reason, even though I completed the survey in its entirety. Maybe it's because I took longer to finish it than is allotted. I don't even see a date next to that study in my list of submissions. Doesn't seem like I will get credited for doing that one, which sucks because the pay was pretty good. Once those two pending approvals go though I should be pretty close to the minimum payout, which is 5 GBP.

@lovebuglena Maybe they will respond. I think I will cash out again in a day or two.

@lovebuglena This will be the second time. I haven't cashed out yet. The last time was 4/6.

I like Prolific and for me it is an excellent moneymaker. I look for surveys on there all the time. I generally cash out once or twice a week, depending on the kinds of surveys I have been getting. They are having a lot on Covid currently.

There was one study in the list I could do and it had hundreds of spots available. I didn't do this study when I saw it thinking I'd complete it a little bit later as there were many spots left. When I came back it was already gone. Guess if you see a study you gotta do it right away regardless of how many spots available.

@lovebuglena Good idea. You have to really check it pretty often to get surveys.

@snowy22315 Sometimes I log on and there is nothing. Sometimes when I log on I see a few or more.

I hope you do well with the site. I'm sorry one timed out.

@lovebuglena I'm glad you did. I'm sure it is disappointing and a waste of time. I've done surveys that timed out or told me I didn't qualify, or they had enough respondents by the time I finished with it. It's the reason I don't do surveys anymore.

Thanks. I already reached the minimum payout, which is 5 GBP. It's disappointing that this happened, especially after the entire survey was completed. That's time wasted.

It's a shame if you miss out on payment after spending time on it.

@lovebuglena Certainly the ones with open-ended questions take much more time.

Definitely. It will be a bummer. If I remember correctly, this survey was one where part of the questions I had to write an answer to. I prefer those where you select from options given instead of open-ended questions. Open-ended questions take longer to complete and if I am not sure how to answer the questions it may take me even longer, which I guess can lead to being booted out of it.

@CarolDM Minimum to cash out there is 5 GBP. I already reached that. But I think I will hold off on cashing out till I earn a little bit more.

I have been a victim of survey sites. I'm almost done when I was prompted that my area wasn't covered by the survey. You're lucky if you will be paid.

For the timed-out survey I doubt I will get paid. But never know... I had issues on Swagbucks before where I'd do a survey and I am well into it (or almost done with it) only to get booted out and see a message that I do not qualify for the survey. It's one thing if it's a quick survey. But if it's long then it's time wasted for nothing. Very frustrating when this happens.

@Nakitakona I never did offers here. I've heard some say that you are not always paid for what you do. But the other reason I never do offers is because I don't want to give them (whoever the offer is from) my personal info.

@lovebuglena It's the same here in Offers section on survey job.
